Fly Fishing: Dullstroom isn't called "the fly fishing Mecca" of South Africa for nothing with some of the best trout rivers and dams in the country, it's a fly fisherman's dream! There are numerous flyfishing shops & coaching operators in and around town. (Shops listed below.)
Fishing at Dullstroom Municipal Nature Reserve Dams only a 10 minute country walk and in view from Tumbleweed backpackers. At the entrance gate to the dam & nature reserve you can pay:-
Entrance fee of R5 per person per day
Fishing licences on site
Full day adult R70 catch limit 2 fish
Full day child R35
Half day adult R40 catch limit 1 fish
Half day child R20
Top Dam = catch & take
Bottom Dam = catch & release only
The Angling shops in town sell month or year licences and advice on other dams, rivers and syndicates.

Walking & Running: Dullstroom is a world renowned destination for Olympic high altitude athlete training or just an enjoyable stroll along the paths in our own wetland.
Short Walk around the "circuit" Turn right out our gate, right at the railway line servitude road, right at the gum trees and follow the road keeping right until you are back at our gate. If you rather choose a more country version, you can go straight at the gum trees and follow the railway servitude next to the camp site, cross the wooden bridge at the river and go as far as you like or have time for.
Day or half day Hike to Suikerboschkoppie Mountain and Nature Reserve with Fishing Dams: As viewed from your doorstep at Tumble weed a short walk away from our gate turn right to the Railway Servitude, right again to the gate near gum trees, turn right down to the municipal entrance gate on the left (Entry R5pp), cross the dam wall and follow the trail up the koppie for a birds eye view of Dullstroom, visit the old Boer War forts & memorials. (Keep your eye out for wild antelope & other game)

Day Hike: Ama Poot Poot Hiking trail: This is about 17kms outside Dullstroom. The Mountain reedbuck route 13kms or 6kms angles over rocky ridges and kranzes with rock formations. It crosses rivers, wanders past game to a lovely 10m high waterfall.
Whisky Tasting: (Single Malts & Blends - Scottish & Irish) 013 254 0254 -Very interesting - all about how various whiskeys are produced.
